As the weather warms up in Las Vegas, it’s tempting to put on a chef’s hat, fire up the grill, and start flipping burgers in the hot Nevada sun. The rest of us, on the other hand, would rather someone else do the dirty work. Enjoy the best places and cooks who know how to make a burger you’ll want to sink your teeth into. You have more than a few top choices for where to get the best burgers in Las Vegas, whether you want a classic done right or an indulgent, over-the-top treat.
1. Oscar’s Steakhouse
Oscar Goodman, a former mayor, and lawyer for the mob, named this restaurant after himself. It is best known for its steaks and martinis, but it also makes a burger you can’t say no to. The recipe calls for two 4-ounce ground ribeye patties on a Turano brioche bun with American cheese, lettuce, and onion strings on top. Homemade pickles are served on the side. Tomatoes aren’t used at all because they might make the dish too wet. You can try the burger in Oscar’s famous dining room, which looks like a dome, or on a new patio that will open later this year.
2. BrewDog
One question for the people at the trade show: how big is your spending account? The Wagyu Burger at BrewDog, a new bar and brewery on the Strip with a rooftop patio, costs $150 and is served in a cloud of smoke inside a black treasure box. The 8 ounces of purebred wagyu beef are topped with caramelized onions, six-year-old cheese, and freshly sliced Italian black truffles. The meat has a buttery taste that’s hard to beat, but if you want to save a few dollars, the Patriot Burger with Black Angus, smoked bacon, and cheddar isn’t a bad option for $23.
3. Meraki Greek Grill
Meraki Greek Grill cares about its products, which makes it one of the best fast-casual restaurants in Las Vegas. It has five sites (and more are coming soon) all over the valley. Try the Meraki Steak Burger if you’ve had too many gyros. On a brioche bun, the half-pound of American Wagyu beef gets a Greek twist with feta, red onions, tomato, lettuce, and creamy tzatziki.
4. Half Bird
Brian Howard’s Half Bird is all about good chicken, whether it’s rotisserie-roasted or deep-fried. However, the restaurant has recently added a Smashburger to its menu, making it a bit more diverse. It is made with two 3.5-ounce patties of Creekstone Farms meat that have five times as much brisket as chuck. With American cheese, chopped lettuce, bread-and-butter pickles, and a special sauce on Martin’s potato bun, they make a wonderful bite. The burger costs $11 on its own, or $15 with smashed roasted potatoes and a drink of your choice.
5. Tap
Tap is one of the best sports bars in Vegas. The walls are full of sports souvenirs, like title belts, signed baseballs, and other things. Make sure to order the Captain Burger, which is named after the Captain Morgan rum used in the BBQ sauce. You can watch the Golden Knights or the Raiders on one of the 60 high-definition TVs. The all-beef burger is served on a brioche bun with bacon, cheese, fried onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and a side of fries. The burger only costs $20, but for just $3 more, you can get two of them.
6. Bar Zazu
As part of a recent change to the menu at Bar Zazu, a new burger has been added. The patty is made in-house by Chef Nicole Brisson, who uses Black Angus chuck and beef from Creekstone Farms to make it. The beef is grilled over a flame made of white wood, charcoal, and olive twigs, just like the steaks at her other restaurant, Brezza. Gorgonzola mascarpone is spread on top of the patty, giving it a strong but soft taste. Potato chips made in-house are served on the side. Brisson also made a version of the burger at Eight, the cigar bar next door, that is similar to the one he made at the burger.
7. Shake Shack
Shake Shack is a company with more than 250 sites in the U.S., but Las Vegas is the only place where you can get a certain item. The Snapshot Burger is a salute to the Vegas Golden Knights. It has a double burger topped with provolone, crispy pickles, onions, and house-made garlic mayo. As with all Shake Shack burgers, the meat is sustainable, has no added hormones, and is ground fresh every 24 hours. Ask for a side of white truffle parmesan fries, which have a sauce made with Rigalis organic white truffle oil and are only available during certain times of the year.
8. Black Tap
Most people know Black Tap for its crazy CrazyShakes, but Executive Corporate Chef Stephen Parker is a health nut who cares a lot about the quality of his products.
Creekstone Farms’ 7-ounce prime beef patties are cooked with no oil and only one flip to get a nice sear. The Texan Burger is piled high with bacon, aged cheese, a thick and crispy onion ring, mayo, and Sweet Baby Ray’s Barbecue Sauce, so you can get the most flavor out of it.
9. Carson Kitchen
The Butter Burger has been a favorite for a long time, but the Iron Chef Burger 2.0 made the menu at Carson Kitchen even better. It’s based on the burger that founder Kerry Simon used to beat Cat Cora on the second season of Iron Chef America during a hamburger fight. Two burgers are topped with red onion jam, fried prosciutto, a celery leaf, a slice of white cheese, and a “fancy” sauce with a bit of sriracha for a hint of heat.
10. Sickies Garage Burgers & Brews
At Town Square, Sickies Garage offers more than 50 different kinds of burgers. But you can’t go wrong with the new Black and Bleu Burger, which is a juicy wagyu burger seasoned with the restaurant’s own Cajun spice mix. It’s covered in melted blue cheese, hot mayonnaise, and crunchy, sweet, and spicy bourbon-glazed bacon. You can pick your own side, like sweet potato fries or baked beans. For the most fun, order PB&J chicken wings and a Trix cereal drink with alcohol in it.
